We’ll debut new ways of gathering that invite you to join us on a collective emergent learning journey toward more equitable, effective grantmaking. Over three days, we’ll focus on our Learn, Share, Evolve Principle , lift up stories and insights from across the PEAK community, and explore ways that members are leaning into each of our five Principles to be activated change agents for philanthropy. We’ll bring diverse voices to the mainstage and introduce new experiences like open fishbowl conversations, world cafés, and ideation rooms to help us explore pressing questions, such as: What makes a best practice in grants management? What might philanthropy achieve if it centered around trust of our nonprofit partners? What’s standing in the way of progress in our organizations and in our careers? How can each of us activate as a changemaker, both inside our organization and across the field? Be there, be inspired, and be a vital part of our movement to transform philanthropy. Learn More Who should attend PEAK2023? The PEAK Grantmaking community is dedicated to transforming philanthropy by leading the way to operationalize equitable, effective grantmaking practices. Currently, our community consists of professionals at all types and sizes of funding institutions working in grants management, IT, programs, operations, evaluation and learning, and executive-level roles, along with vendor partners and folks working at philanthropy-supporting organizations. Speaking generally, these professionals are multidisciplinary in background and play a part in stewarding the grantmaking process within funding institutions. What is the hotel and venue for PEAK2023? The venue and hotel of the event is the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront on 700 Aliceanna Street in Baltimore, MD 21202. Located in the Harbor East neighborhood, the Marriott is a short distance from Fells Point, the National Aquarium, and the restaurants and shops of the Inner Harbor. PEAK’s block of discount-rate rooms at the Marriott is completely booked. If you are joining us in Baltimore, please consider the following hotels for your PEAK2023 stay. All are under 0.3 miles from the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Homewood Suites by Hilton Baltimore Hilton Garden Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor Courtyard by Marriott Baltimore Downtown/Inner Harbor Hyatt Place Baltimore/Inner Harbor Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel Tax Policy If you reserved a room at the Marriott at PEAK’s discounted rate for attendees, please be aware that the per-night rate does not include a 17.50% hotel room tax (subject to change). Total room charges will include all room fees and taxes. Hotel Cancellation Policy Cancellations made after 72 hours prior to day of arrival will forfeit one night’s room and tax. What health and safety measures are PEAK taking? In order to ensure that this is a safe event for all, attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and may need to wear a mask while at the meeting. PEAK Grantmaking will waive vaccination requirements for religious or medical reasons. The honor system will be used to implement these requirements, and we will not require physical proof of vaccination status or exemptions. Review our In-Person Meetings Health and Safety Guidelines Will there be an option to participate virtually? The PEAK2023 online experience extends the opportunity for more members of our community to participate in our annual convening. Virtual attendees will be able to live stream all three keynotes and a selection of breakouts across five concurrent session blocks where you can participate via the PEAK2023 app. Plus, you’ll have on-demand access to all of our streamed content through the app during and following the convening. The rates for virtual participation are $300 for Organization and Consultant Members, $400 for Individual Members, and $500 for nonmembers. Rates will go up after April 14. Are scholarships available? Yes! We recognize that not everyone can afford to attend professional development opportunities. We are thrilled to be offering scholarships that cover the in-person registration fee, coach flight, ground transportation to/from home or the airport/train station, and three hotel room nights at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront. Scholarships are also available to cover the cost of virtual registration for those who cannot attend in person. Scholarship applications closed on February 17, 2023. Accepted applicants were notified in early March. Eligibility: Scholarships are open to any individual working for a grantmaking institution or philanthropy support organization. You must be a U.S. citizen and member of PEAK Grantmaking. Priority will be given to PEAK volunteers and highly-engaged members and those who are committed to being change agents for the Principles for Peak Grantmaking, with a focus on empowering a diverse group of philanthropy professionals. What if I need accommodation to participate fully? PEAK is committed to hosting inclusive, accessible events. Share any accommodations we can provide that will make it easier for you to fully participate, such as captioning, American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. Please contact info@peakgrantmaking.org to request an accommodation. What is your cancellation/substitution policy? Cancellations for in-person registrations received by April 14, 2023 will be eligible to receive a partial refund (registration price minus a $50 non-refundable administrative fee). Cancellations for in-person registrations received after April 14, 2023 will not be eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be provided for virtual-only registrations. Participants may also choose to transfer their registration to a colleague or peer with the same membership level or by transferring their registration to the online PEAK2023 experience. Transfers to a colleague to attend in person must be completed by April 28, 2023 . Transfer to a virtual registration must be completed by May 3, 2023 . No refunds will be issued for transferred registrations. Requests for cancellations and substitutions must be submitted in writing to: info@peakgrantmaking.org . EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS POLICY What is the photo/video/media policy for the event? During PEAK2023, we will be photographing and recording various aspects of our programs, and your image, voice, and chats might be captured. In addition, we capture evaluation data for programming design and testimonial purposes. Through event registration, attendees accept the terms of our release: Photography/Video/Audio Release By participating in this conference, you authorize PEAK Grantmaking to use and reproduce any photographs, videos, chats, and audio recordings taken, for promotion or distribution.
